How to Choose the Right Voltage for Roller Shutter Motors?
As a China-based manufacturer of roller shutter motors, J&G Motor will share how to select the appropriate motor voltage based on different application scenarios in this article.
1. 24V Roller Shutter Motors with Backup Battery
24V roller shutter motors are typically paired with control boxes that feature a backup power supply. This means the door can still be opened and closed even during a power outage. Therefore, for electric roller shutters installed in areas with power shortages or unstable electricity, it is highly recommended to choose 24V motors with backup power.
2. 220V Roller Shutter Motors
Compared to motors with backup power, 220V roller shutter motors are more affordable, which makes them much more widely used. However, their lifting capacity generally does not exceed 1,500 kg. Thus, for small to medium-sized roller shutters in areas with a stable and abundant power supply, 220V motors are an excellent choice.
3. 380V Roller Shutter Motors
For heavy-duty, large-scale roller shutters, 380V motors are required. These high-power motors provide sufficient pulling force to ensure the stable operation of massive doors. Consequently, 380V motors are commonly used for electric roller shutters with a lifting capacity of 1.5 tons, 2 tons, 2.5 tons, and above.
In Conclusion
While there are other voltage options available, such as 110V, the types mentioned above are the most common. We hope this guide from J&G Motor helps you select the right voltage for your specific roller shutter needs!
