Reasons the Rolling Shutter Remote Won't Work

Why Can't I Open the Electric Rolling Door with the Remote Control?

J&G Motor, as a manufacturer of electric rolling shutter door remote controls, shares some common reasons why a remote control might fail to operate the door in this article.

1. Remote Control Transmitter is Cleared or Pairing Failed

Whether the remote control transmitter has been cleared (reset) or the pairing process was unsuccessful, the signal command sent by the remote control handle cannot be received by the receiver. Consequently, it is impossible to control the motor, resulting in the remote control failing to open the electric rolling shutter door.

2. Malfunction of the Rolling Shutter Door Motor

If the motor itself malfunctions, even if both the remote control transmitter and receiver are working normally, the motor will not respond to the open/close signal commands. In this scenario, the remote control will also fail to open the door.

3. The Motor is Not Powered

If the electric rolling shutter door motor does not have a backup power supply and the area is experiencing a power outage, the system cannot function normally. Therefore, it is impossible to open the electric rolling shutter door using the remote control.

4. Malfunction of the Remote Control Receiver

The receiver acts as the central hub for controlling the motor's operation. If the receiver malfunctions, it naturally cannot receive signals or control the motor. Therefore, if the receiver is faulty, the remote control will not be able to open or close the door.

5. Remote Control Transmitter Malfunction or Dead Battery

A faulty transmitter or a dead battery will prevent the transmitter from sending out control signal commands. Consequently, the motor cannot be controlled, and naturally, the door cannot be opened using the remote control.
